Lenka Cutler

Lenka Cutler is an Ottawa-based artist with a degree in Communication Studies, specializing in Film Production. Her interest in visual storytelling eventually led her to the Ottawa School of Art where she studied Fine Art and the practice of freezing time and space through drawing, painting and printmaking.​

 

Lenka's work is often influenced by the hidden layers of colour in our rural Canadian environment through the changing seasons. She enjoys an intuitive approach to painting and encourages the natural movement of paint to help shape the organic lines of her composition. Intention builds through the layers, starting with loose brush strokes and bold colour choices and finishing with a more subtle palette carefully blended to enhance or soften areas of her canvas.

 

Lenka's finished paintings and prints often verge on nostalgic with dream-like glimpses of movement and light.
